Tau
The quarry operated by NorStone in Tau produces approx. 2.5 million tonnes of aggregate each year. Total deposits are estimated at 150 million tonnes. The quartz diorite rock found there is considered particularly hard and is known for its greenish colour. The stone is used in the concrete and asphalt industries, in road beds, rail track construction and offshore. The “Dura-Splitt” brand is especially suited as road construction material. The quarry’s quay facility that can load vessels up to 25,000 tonnes.

Askøy
Annual production in the region of 1.0 million tonnes of aggregates. It has available resources of approximately 30 million tonnes. It has a gneiss/granite type of rock which is used in the concrete and asphalt industries, in road beds, rail track construction and offshore. The quarry’s quay facility can load vessels up to 30,000 tonnes.

Dirdal
Annual production in the region of 1 million tonnes of aggregates It has approximatly 40 million tonnes of available reserves. Quarry produce principally offshore products up to 200mm which is used as ballast on Northsea oil and gas installations. The quarry’s quay facility can load vessels up to 60,000 tonnes.
